Keyboard
Features
  • Adjusts effortlessly -- A simple one-handed motion allows the keyboard to be repositioned instantly, without the use of locks or levers.
  • Encourages low-risk postures -- Whereas older generation products focus solely on maximum adjustability, the 2G maximizes adjustability within a safe operating range. For instance, it does not allow users to adjust their keyboards into a positive slope or above the desk, both of which are high-risk keyboarding positions.
  • Non-intrusive -- The 2G offers total knee clearance, so the only things below the keyboard are your knees. And its ease of adjustability means that it's never in the way.
  • Will last a lifetime -- The 2G provides the industry's most stable support for mousing and keyboarding. Made of powder-coated steel to exacting standards, it will provide years and years of healthy use. In addition, the 2G meets or exceeds all applicable BIFMA standards and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Keyboard systems have been widely embraced as the best way to encourage users to adopt low risk body postures and, therefore, provide the best protection against Repetitive Stress injuries. However, the "old generation" keyboard mechanisms on the market today have major drawbacks that can be uncomfortable (and sometimes downright painful).

The major complaints have been:

  1. Banging the knees against the mechanism (or always having it in the way!)
  2. Awkward knobs and levers for height adjustments
  3. Allowing users to put the keyboard into a "positive" angle which over time may actually cause Repetitive Stress injuries.

The Freedom Arm, a revolutionary design in keyboard support systems, introduces three major breakthroughs in keyboard functionality that finally resolves these problems and makes the keyboard support virtually invisible to the user:

Total knee clearance:  The number one complaint among keyboard systems users is that they often hit their knees (and tear pantyhose, pants ...) on the steel arm that holds the platform. Our new patent pending design supports the mechanism from above, not below like traditional systems, so the only things below the platform are your knees.

Knob free, intuitive height adjustment:  Height adjustments can be made by simply tilting the front of the keyboard up slightly and putting the keyboard where you want it - that's it. No knobs. No levers. No straining! This means you can retract the platform with a single fluid motion even if you're using it at or near a desk.

Low-risk keyboarding:  Unlike all the older generation products, this system cannot be adjusted in a positive tilt, (which typically causes an extended wrist angle) a risk factor for wrist and hand RSIs. This means users cannot adjust the keyboard system into a potentially harmful position.

Additional Product Features
Super Smooth Sliding:  New low friction polypropylene slides have a unique "skate" shape which provides smooth and easy sliding for the life of your furniture.

Spring Assist:  All keyboard mechanisms come standard with spring assisted adjustments so the mechanism does the lifting, not the user! This means that the user can adjust the system without any strain (it can be done with one hand!) and it also prevents keyboards from crashing to the floor if they're not supported when knobs or levers are released.

Pinch free:  We protect the user from the small risks as well as the big ones. Our mechanism is designed so that a user will never get a pinched finger no matter where they manage to put it while adjusting their platforms.
